During the first half of 1944, flew troops to the Philippines (Biak and Davao). On June 14 came from Davao escort mission of the First Power Supply. It sank after colliding with the tanker Seiyo Maru near Surigao Strait and exploded their depth charges. There were 104 deaths (including its commander) and 8 wounded.
